Crowned With Joy
Wednesday Walk
This Saturday, women from across the Diocese of Jefferson City will join me for our annual Spring Pilgrimage. Together, we will take our final walk through the Rosary in this pilgrimage series as we reflect on the Glorious Mysteries.
The Glorious Mysteries reveal what Christ’s sacrifice obtained for us:
The Resurrection changed everything.
The Ascension reminds us where we are headed.
Pentecost reminds us we are not left alone.
The Assumption reminds us Heaven is real.
The Coronation reminds us that joy is our inheritance too.
We must remember that we are not merely admiring Mary’s crown. Mary’s role has always been to lead us to her Son. She walks beside us as a mother, guide, and example of complete trust in God.
As daughters of our Heavenly Father, we are invited into that same eternal joy. What Mary experienced is not distant from us—it is part of the promise God desires for each of His children.
But we must also remember our responsibility to do as Mary did: lead others to Jesus.
And that is where joy matters.
When our families look at us, do they see women of joy? Joy is attractive. Joy is evidence of peace, trust, and surrender that surpasses understanding. True Christian joy is not pretending life is perfect—it is living with confidence that Christ has overcome the world.
That is the “Crown of Joy” that is our inheritance.
So let us stand tall and wear that crown with the joy it was intended to reflect. That may be the very message our world most needs to see right now.
And for those of you who live nearby, I hope you will join us this Saturday for the pilgrimage. Think of it as just a slightly longer journey than our Wednesday walks.
