The Gardner
Monday's Musical Motivation
Spring planting season is here in Missouri, and what a beautiful spring we are having! It feels like the first year we haven’t jumped straight from cold into full-on heat. The landscape is coming into bloom, and the colors and clarity around me feel especially vibrant.
While I have never considered myself much of a gardener, I have been feeling the urge to get outside, work in the yard, and cultivate the beauty I am seeing. There are plants that need to be replaced because they didn’t make it through the winter, and others that need a little extra care after the long cold months. Some need to be repotted to give them space to continue to grow, while others need pruning—cutting away what no longer serves them so they can thrive.
Isn’t that just like us?
Why not spend some time with our Master Gardener? In prayer, we can begin to notice the areas of our lives that may need attention. Are there things we need to let go of? Parts of our lives that need to be transplanted into new soil? Or perhaps areas that simply need nourishment to grow stronger?
Let this beautiful song, The Gardener by Sarah Kroger, set the tone for that time of reflection.
Heavenly Father, help us grow.
